If you are confident you can treat it properly and are ready for the responsibility, there is no reason not to simply begin.

{Mmmhm}

do weigh that responsibility heavily, though
8:59 PM
A being with you potentially 100% of the time for the rest of your life
Avatar
Personally, I don't think it is likely for someone to know if they are ready or not.
Avatar
Honeslty, that's not what worries me
9:00 PM
What worries me is scrweing with my sanity and persepction of things?
9:00 PM
Gods, spelling
Avatar
Either you are or you aren't, and if you aren't, you have probably convinced yourself that you are. There have been lots of people who come saying "I didn't know what I was doing, I'd like to disappate" or something to that effect.
9:00 PM
Having a tulpa is a much more mundane experience than you seem to be perceiving it as.
Avatar
what are you afraid of happening to your sanity/perceptions?
9:01 PM
if you've read anything relating to creepypastas, they're all nonsense
Avatar
I'm aware, I have read one but I have seen nothing to indicate that is reality
9:03 PM
It's just fucking weird and something I don't have any real expierence with
9:03 PM
Like, it's just fucking WEIRD and I'm not sure how to handle with it, I'm super interested but .. . yeah
Avatar
Nothing we haven't already said will quell these fears or reservations you are having. I recommend you begin if you like, and stop if you do not like the direction it's heading.
9:05 PM
Or decide that it's not worth it, or you don't really care enough, and forget about it. Fretting over it will bring only stress.
Avatar
Personally, i gave it a years thought before i started work on making a tulpa. If you're overwhelmed by the concept and need some time to sort things out, there's nothing wrong with that either. I agree that stressing over it won't help, but calm reflection on yourself, your situation, and other factors is a good thing in terms of deciding to tulpa or not
Avatar
Yeah, sorry
Avatar
don't be sorry, there's nothing to apologize for

We aren't going to stop you, and we'll support you if you decide to dive on in. Just sharing my experience and thoughts

Yeah, the thing is that I am incredibly eager.
9:16 PM
The idea excites me more the n anything I'
9:16 PM
ve come across in years, however I'm still . . . cautious?
Avatar
why so excited?
Avatar
I'm not sure, it's just . . . incredibly intersting?
9:20 PM
My fascination with mind to mind communication and relationships falls way back to when I was young with like, Eragon and Pern. . .
9:20 PM
and while this is entirely different, it's similar enough to still earn the same excitement

fair enough

Cool. Keep us posted, and ask questions when you have them

I've studied up a ton so I should be good. . . we'll see

tulpas are really fascinating

Lol I had the same attitude
2:14 AM
Everything built up then I gave up and just did it
Avatar
Yeahhh
2:34 AM
I'm just so fucking curious
Avatar
Is it normal to have hallucinations while meditating such as, say, picking up your cell phone?
Avatar
I mean, sounds like you're way out of it
4:19 AM
you mean just the visualization or feeling like you actually did it and being like whoah that didn't happen
4:20 AM
first could just be dissociation, second is a little weird
4:20 AM
I mean both are dissociation but yeah
Avatar
I mean I also ended up with like auditorh hallucinations just a couple days ago and the sound of my fan was just completely blocked out which shocked me right out of it
4:22 AM
Then again I do typically meditate an hour before bed so that may have something to do with it
Avatar
your brain is really good at filtering out continuous stimuli
4:22 AM
we could do that if we tried
4:22 AM
idk if it's not invasive or utterly unexpected you're fine
Avatar
Idk I just wouldn't expect to achieve something like that in my first 2 1/2 weeks of meditation
Avatar
well if it's an "achievement" then it doesn't sound invasive..
Avatar
Oh it's not. First time I just got caught up in thinking about a song I liked and somehow managed to hear it, second time I just had a sudden urge to pick up my phone while meditating because it didn't seem like I was doing a very good job at it and my back started to hurt and I got so caught up in it that I simply imwgined picking it up. It wasn't like a full on visual hallucination, moreso something similar to that one time I experienced hypnagogia
Avatar
I'll just let it slide for now though (edited)
Avatar
Maybe you're just especially prone to dissociation?
Avatar
I don't see anything that would indicate that in the past...
Avatar
Interesting
Avatar
i wonder what my tulpa will be like

Leviaiz [Reindasach] 8/3/2018 2:56 PM
i'm confused, is your tulpa called Korea?
Avatar
Leviaiz [Reindasach] 8/3/2018 3:38 PM
do you want ze look like something in Korea?

Hi. Can I turn myself into a tulpa?
Avatar
Go back in time and make it so your tulpa was the one originally born in your body, and then created you later in life
3:50 PM
Serious answer, no

@V∆L-H∆L8 considering that the common definition of "tulpa" is based on origin, no.
4:31 PM
Now, if the question is, can you make yourself less in control/associated with your body, like many tulpas, then the answer is "probably".
Avatar
Interesting
Avatar
well, yeah, most mindforms are more a name of origin than how they exist. So, you can become "tulpa-like" if you switch.
Avatar
Sounds super interesting to expirence
Avatar
<Ponytail> Well, it's strange, certainly. I wouldn't say it's fascinating though
Avatar
I would say it sounds fucking fascinating
6:27 PM
Much like all of this
Avatar
hello ^^ i really want to be able to do visual imposition. i'm going to read all the guides i can find, but has anyone here got personal experiences with this and could give me some pointers? or just share some experiences?
Avatar
does this mean you've something to share? or just that you wanna know about this topic, too? :D
Avatar
the latter :P

Hi. Can I turn myself into a tulpa? Lumi (our host) is basically a tulpa at this exact moment 'cus I'm switched and fronting
11:57 PM
but he's still host and I'm still tulpa
11:57 PM
'cus yeah those are more origin terms
11:58 PM
unless the host basically gives up fronting forever and is just a tulpa who never fronts, aaand formally relinquishes that title to their tup who accepts it, then maybe the tulpa could be called the new host
11:58 PM
@Tulpabug are you the "host" in your system yet or is your host still the host even if she never fronts (edited)
11:59 PM
you and Apollo are the most fronting-est tulpas I know... aside from me ??
Avatar
Abvieon {Alex} 8/4/2018 12:01 AM
"fronting-est" 😆
Avatar
I think "host" and "tulpa" are exclusively terms of origin. But, as with all words, they only exist to serve our purposes. I guess you could also use them as Lucilyn suggests, to distinguish between who spends a great majority of the time in front.
Avatar
Host and tulpa are not well defined at all, to be fair, I think they will mean wildly different things depending on the person you talk to.
Avatar
That too.
Avatar
well it's not even majority, I'm pretty sure Tulpa still considers his host his host even if he spends all the time fronting, not even just majority (edited)
12:05 AM
a host giving up their title as host is like total resignation from interacting with the physical life
12:05 AM
that's permaswitching and besides being kinda taboo we never really hear about it
Avatar
there are some people in other multiple communities that aren't tulpamancy focused that use host interchangably with primary fronter (person who fronts the most) but some use it to refer to whoever was there first regardless of any swithcing temporary or permanent it really depends on who you're talking to (edited)
Avatar
It's probably a good idea to continue keeping the host as "the host," since it's their body in the first place regardless if they aren't fronting as often as other tulpas. Sure they can essentially become tulpas due to how active they are, but it doesn't mean they were forced and became sentient.
12:19 AM
(hope that makes sense, successfully stayed up for 24 hours to fix the sleep and we were woken up abruptly moments ago)
Avatar
yeah that makes sense I was just adding what I've noticed while lurking in other communities
Avatar
Mhm. I was mostly directing it in general, I should have clarified. Saw this question pop up earlier today and didn't respond until now, haha
Avatar
ah
Avatar
Overall, Reguile seems correct, though I feel it's best to presume that the "host" is the original person in the body.
